just thought of this. what do i love about people? their hobbies, the things that make them passionate, and just the knowledge people CHOOSE to take in. whether its for enjoyment, or for sum quick money. when i say hobby, i mean whatever you define it to mean. when it comes to hobbies there are no right or wrong answers, there just is. hobbies r awesome, and ive awlays been a bitch that wants to know everything. whats the saying? Jack of all trades, Master of none. that is a beautiful title. and exactly what id say about myself. i love my hobbies, i love getting into new hobbies, and i LOVE hearing people speak about theirs! learning about others hobbies not only lets you learn more about them, their morals, their vision, it shows a more pure part of who they are. hobbies are when you decide to take control and make something grow. idgaf if u tap into ur hobby only once a year or every day, it is something personal and important to each individual and thats what i love about it. when it comes to hobbies i truly believe no one can get in the way of it, because its yours. when you learn, grow, and put action towards something that peaks your interest, others opinion & others 2 cents, really means not a damn thing. so lets ask THE PEOPLE about THEIR hobbies!

“ visual ideas have always come to me like visions! for a longtime I saw myself as only a makeup artist but inevitably the visions became more than just eyeshadow looks and I was pushed to explore my comfort zone. makeup and a constant change in my appearance is what inspires me most. personally a hobby to me never feels like work and almost feels like going to play outside when we were kids. that’s exactly how executing my visual ideas feels like! whether it be a new photo shoot idea, photo edit concept, hair project or video montage, executing what I see in my head always leaves me feeling empowered,excited and inspired! my hobbies vary but all fall on some form of self expression,through them I’ve been able to meet some of the most amazing artists (of all mediums) and like minded individuals. i loved to color when I was a kid so I shifted to coloring on my face,it was only a matter of time before I began to color everything I laid eyes on. ” i got into skating cause i got inspired by my sister and brother. one day i saw them skating outside so i had asked my sister if i could try it out real quick once i got on the board i felt like i would enjoy it a lot and would love to start learning with my brother and sister so then my sister would let me use her skateboard sometimes to practice and i had fun with it. then one day i asked my dad if he could buy me a skateboard so then he took me to zumiez and we bought one. i started using it but then got tired of it, when i moved to san antonio i wanted to try again and skate, so i bought this skateboard and ever since i started using it a lot and started going to the skate park with my brother. i would slowly start learning how to go down every single ramp and it was sm fun i enjoyed it a lot, then finally learned to go down the big ramp and it was a lot of fun. i started going down it every time with my brother i also love skating cause i get to spend time with my brother and i love my brother a lot hes fun to skate with, hes teaching me new ramp tricks and showing me different skate parks, thats how i got into skating”

“ I started playing guitar a little over 6 years ago. I wanted to learn how to play all the songs I loved. I don’t know why, but I never really thought of playing the drums, bass, vocals, etc to all the songs I liked back then. Just the guitar at the time. I guess I just liked the sound of the guitar more lol. At the time, the main way I kept getting better at guitar was learning how to play the songs I liked that were difficult for me to master. It’s one thing listening to a song, but actually playing one of the instruments that make a song is a much bigger thing. For me at least. Now, I get better at playing guitar by practicing different sweep picking patterns, mastering new scales, making original solo’s, and learning how to play difficult songs. My influences that keep me playing are the bands Dragonforce, Symphony X, Avenged Sevenfold, As I Lay Dying, and many more.”

” lets start fun. imagine a world where we werent funneled into a vicious cycle of capitalistic brainwashing and lust for lifestyles that will never fulfill any of our desires. sounds fun right?? before i bore you to death and make you think im a pretentious idiot, let me explain to you what i mean. remember the people in the movie “Wall-E”? with their ICEEs, floating chairs, and complete indulgence in all things pleasure? i love them. if i could remain a sexy, intelligent, and all-around ultimate beacon of all things beautiful about the human spirit, (am i joking? maybe. maybe not) i would most definitely adopt their lifestyle and succumb to any impulsive desire my brain could think of. why? because its fun and i want to. simple as that. many people like to say things like “you cant have your cake and eat it too” or “its all about balancing work and play.” and to those people, i quote Oscar Wilde, ” everything in moderation, including moderation.” im eating my cake every day i wake up and making more cake because i can. sometimes its nice to forget about the pressure of maintaining balance and completely thrusting yourself into obsession with something, regardless of the consequences ( within reason tho. dont be a weirdo.) i get a surplus amount of that passionate spark when it comes down to some of the many hobbies i have adopted over the years. i like art. surprise. anything that can scratch the creative itch i have will lure me in like a siren, and before i know it, im on a month long rabbit hole trying to teach myself everything about my newfound interest in the heroic chic photography style developed by Davide Sorrenti would lead me down a path of sending memes to a subreddit dedicated to the addicts of copious amounts of schizophrenia inducing Benadryl and Dextromethorphan. not sure how i got there! but i wont question it, i just made some new friends! its SO important to be open-minded, and take whatever life gives you in stride. you may get yourself wrapped up in a scene or interest that becomes self-destructive, but its up to you to take the bullets out of your wounds, melt them down, and mold them into a cool necklace or something, i dont know, just make sure youre having fun in the end. but enough of my shallow attempt at wisdom, let me get to the part where i actually talk about my hobbies. ive gotten into music, photography, graphic design, fashion ( whatever that means ), and more. like i said earlier, anything that can lure me in artistically, i end up falling in love with. that lure can come from something like the beautiful chord progression on the song “Welcome to the Machine” by Pink Floyd, or even something as simple as the subtle design on a cigarette box or those stupid cat posters our teachers hang on the wall in class. anything and everything has potential in it. you either see it or you dont. if you dont, i feel bad for you. when it comes to music, i always felt passion towards it since i was a child, and all i would do was listen to music in my 100 song mp3 player, dreaming that one day i could do it myself. now, every time i make a good instrumental or hear a song that resonates with me perfectly, it feels like what i imagine God coming back down to earth in female form and giving me a blow job would feel like. maybe thats dramatic, but i get it. some songs that feel like that would be “Everything means nothing to me” by Elliot Smith, “Tira Para Arriba” by Miguel Mateos, and “Be Quiet and Drive” by Deftones. and since i was so engrossed in music, i studied the artists, their peers, and their designers, which led me to develop interests in other art forms. theyre all connected one way or another and i get no greater joy than finding something that unites them beautifully (e.g. movies, music videos, runway shows, etc…). the eeriness of green tinted lighting with minor chords playing behind them is a simple example of what i mean, when the energies match, the impact is that much stronger. if you get those qualia i get, or am trying to explain, you know exactly what i mean. its all energy, and its nice finding something, someone, some phenomenon that matches your energy perfectly. on another note, im really not sure how flexible the word hobby is, i mean, can habits be hobbies? should i call my frequent use of psychedelic drugs a hobby? should i call the time i spend playing a podcast in the background of my daily actions due to my “iPad Baby” relationship with the need to always be stimulated, a hobby? or maybe one day i develop a masochist style need to always stub my toes on the doorway when i walk into my room, could i call that a hobby? i dont know. point is, who cares. if you like it, its a hobby, and you should be able to express that joy in any medium you can. if i had to make a closing statement, i would say give yourself meaning, dont find meaning in your interests. be effortless, but passionate. fail gloriously instead of never trying. realize you are most likely always the least equipped person to say whats right and wrong. be stupid. let learning be a hobby. dont be a robot that is only interesting when you can spew out facts about stuff you like. be you as much as possible. be someone that people adopt hobbies from. and if youre boring, thats okay, just find some more hobbies.”

c: ” my first first first one, where there was actually clean ass trucks, not no rageddy ass trucks, like mine, was at a get together. it was like a bunch of youtubers, that were small, like at a thousand or less subscribers. at that time i had like 130 subscribers. it had people like La Trokita Blanca & all them people from Houston. and uh we hung out there. i guess that was the actual first time i saw clean trucks. i looked at my truck and i was like damnnn.. my truck ugly. it was more inspiring, like damn my truck ugly i gotta work on it. i always made sure to add my own touch to my truck. i liked being different, no one wants to see all the same trucks. my truck is an SS Clone, which a lot of people have now, but back in the day no one would. it went well with my last name Silva, and i thought damn this will b good if i ever need to brand. i take long making decisions about my truck because i think a lot about getting something unique.”

UST. i got to know them a lot because the first 3 weeks, we would hang out every single day. we would b like “whats going down?” or ” what yall tryna do?” and it was either we’d go to eat, someone’s house, go downtown, go take pictures. those 3 weeks got me to learn a lot about them. they learned a lot about me. from then, it was truck shows or truck meets. we havent been to a big ass truck show, but we’re planning on going, buying shirts, all the shit you need. you need a sponsor, its what we need. also crews have mando. meets, mandatory meets, so you gotta go attend the meeting. some crews they b bitching and take shit too serious. if u dont attend a mando. meeting you get kicked out. UST is more like a family, so if you gotta work or do some family shit, its understandable. if from day one you dont hang w us, talk to us, then of course we’re gonna start thinking into it. i mean a month and a half.. i mean shit. at first, people would barely come out to hang w everybodody, and recently its been a lot of people. everyone is down to go out. we have like 10-12 people that are always down to b out. theres more people in the crew tho.”

c: ” alright, it always changes. at first it was vlogs, but a lot of people didnt do them back then. i dont know who i watched that made vlogs, but it was a vlogger. and i got into vlogs. the gaming tho is what got me into youtube. i would watch FazeClan and all that, and PewDiePie, all the gamers type shit. then i remember i wanted to do gaming but back then i didnt have confidence and was shy. i would post them, then put it on private or delete them. cus i was, not ashamed, but.. well yea i was a little ashamed. cus back then if people knew you did youtube theyd make fun of you. they would see that as weird, and my confidence wasnt there so i would get shy or embarassed. then i wanted to do vlogs, but i tried like 2 or 3 videos, which i think were kinda cool but i deleted it. i remember cus i saw a screenshot of those vlogs and thought, damn those were actually really good vlogs back then. now i can never see them again. from then, i remember it was 2016 and i started making videos. i would just post once and a while, then in 2018 i posted my last video. in 2017 i stopped playing video games completely. so during 2017-2019 i would only watch car videos. it was more restoring and fixing cars. i wanted to b on my mechanic shit. i was like 15 or 16. every time i didnt know some shit, id search it up on youtube and learn. then in my recommendations i saw a youtube channel called Goonsquad & it was 2 dudes that restored cars. i remember watching them in 2017, and theyd restore jeeps, 4 wheelers, and all that shit. i got intrigued by that, so i started watching them. i still watch them. they are what made me want to start a car/truck based youtube channel. i got into wanting to do that by 2019. my first car was a bmw 235i & i fixed that car a lot. i remember i wanted to start making videos w my old crew & the bmw, but it didnt work out. damn so yea, since 2017 i wanted to start car vlogs and just never did. in my 2017 crew, i was the editor, i made the videos and was a member. so id make videos for the crew, and make my own for my youtube channel. in 2019 is when i got really into it. i had a homeboy who made them too so i guess it kinda helped and motivated me. i though yk what i want to do it too, and i want to go full on. put in a lot of more effort. i did it, and it actually grew. now i have 1,100 subs, back then id get 7,000 views-10,000 views now i dont get fucking shit. cus i started posting, it was fun to post. one year i ghosted and did nothing and it didnt feel like me no more, so i stopped. just wanted to focus on my money and my persona. so id only do it once in a while, if i felt like editing or anything like that. my motivation left outta no where. recently i have motivation waves. i wanna do it, then i dont. apparently everyone wants me to make videos, so i might start up again. i have a bunch of video ideas, i just have to do them. wanna talk about my dads’ mustang, fixing it up, la harley too. a bunch of ideas, whenever i go out w my crew i wanna record. record truck shows, crew meets. this time ima actually try and upload.”

c: “i used to make beats back in the day. ive been tryna learn more about it. im not good at it, but i wanna learn. i b getting on the computer and makin beats once in a while. guitar too. im shit at it, but i try to play a little bit when im in my room. that, and i guess just editing. tryna figure out different ways to edit. music. i listen to a lot of music, i would love to do it but im not good at it. reselling cars, thats my hobbie, my side job. shoes, thats one thing i was really into. i would resell them. i still like them, and ik a lot about shoes but im not too crazy about them anymore.”

c: “i mean just go head on. just go head on, with what you like doing. a hobby can b.. i feel like a hobby is whatever you enjoy. i enjoy skating too i forgot to say that. i enjoy skating, im not good at it but i enjoy it. its a hobby. as long as you enjoy and you put the effort to do it, you can get good. and if you just enjoy doing it as something in the side, its just a hobby. dont let anybody put you down or bring you down. fuck what people say.”

you cant lie reading this must have either inspired you or pissed you off to the point where youll later realize, ” damn. i was bitter, but let me tap into my interests” everyones hobbies, and everyones words differ in the best possible way. when you see that other people are so focused on something the same way you are, you see how simliar we really are. so similar in a world of people that hold so much diversity. the world is awesome, and humans are cool as hell! i loved learning more about each and every one of these people. thank you to everyone who was willing to share a little part of themselves, if you can take anything from this, trust me when i say i am overly inspired now & i feel like i gotta learn everything ASAP. yall are awesome!
also it wouldnt b a blog if i didnt talk about myself for at least 10 seconds. i would explain what hobbies mean to me, but 1 it was kinda done in the intro and 2 i couldnt word it as well as everyone else already has. i will say tho, when i feel pulled away from who i am, i always know throwing myself into one of my hobbies will ground me again. it’s like a wake up call. ” you were in the matrix, u forgot ur in control” being in control of something you love reminds you that ” oh wait, i guess i do have the power to b in control in other aspects of my life too!” to me, the energy you use/give when focused on hobbies, ends up exuding into other parts of your life. its healthy for the mind and for the body in ways you may not always see in the 3D.

t: “most of the motivation to do it comes from people just telling me to do it or asking if they wanna do it or be on it, and im like, for sure. and then uhh what was the other one?”

t: ” Oh! um i love to listen to music, super into music, kinda into cinema, i havent really been watching too many things on tv or in the movies but yea. and just b in the gym.

t: “id say try out everything that you want, and then find something you like, compare both, and choose which one you think is comfortable.”
P.S. the reason i even got motivated to type this up and get back into this excerpt after like a month, is because i remembered his podcast and listened to the latest episode. seeing people’s work always motivates, and now i feel like ill probably have this published soon, its been in the drafts for a minuteeee.
